Dear ODS members,

October means the changing of the season. The leaves, the weather, horses' coats.... our coats soon will be changing. While things always seem to be changing.. some things remain the same. Like our ODS member’s love for their horses and riding.

This September’s trail ride was fabulous. We all met at Wilson’s Creek for a beautiful morning ride. Our day ended at Stacy Huntington’s for the BBQ. It was the perfect day of riding, good company ... and lots of good food.

In October we will be finishing up next year’s calendar and planning our activities.We still need show managers and locations for schooling shows. Your input is very important.

As we begin thinking about next year, please remember our Omnibus add drive.We need ads, ads, ads! The ads will serve to offset our cost for the Omnibus. Be creative... and bold. Ask friends... family... strangers... anyone! The more ads, the better. (Ad forms available in the back of the newsletter.)

Hey, have you ever heard of Balimo? It’s a special riding tool to help develop balance and motion. If there is time after the business section of our meeting, we will look at this special stool designed by Eckert Meyners for is wife who is a dressage rider. I learned of it at an Eckart Meyners and Hannes Muller clinic. Meyners stresses mind, body and muscle connection in a warm up exercise program based on an individuals unique body. I will have a chair for you to try. It allows unrestricted natural three dimensional motion while having to maintain your balance. The chair helps identify and correct problems in your seat. If there is time we will see a brief video.
